Another Donation to the East Africa Appeal

Thanks to your kind support of the Fair Trade Group at our shop, stores and events, we have been able to raise enough money to donate another $2000 to the  East Africa Appeal. As our donation comes before the end of November it will be matched by the Australian Government, increasing our effective contribution to $40000. We have just sent off our cheque for $3000 for the East Africa Appeal, and the good news today is that all donations between the 5th of October and the 30th November will be matched dollar for dollar by the Australian government.
This means that our donation will now lead to $6000 being donated to the work in  East Africa. If you want to know more, check out our links on Facebook.

 Than you to everyone who contributed to our recent fund raising event, by volunteering, donating, selling raffle tickets or attending. We have now sent a donation of $3000 to the  East Africa Appeal, funds are still urgently needed so if you can help please go to the website and make a donation.

Alternatively, if you can organize a Shout the Horn event for the 16th of October,  we now have three in WA, but not one in the Perth or Fremantle area. It would be great to see that change!

Making Good Things GROW - Special Event

 

This event aims to achieve many things, celebrate fifty years of volunteering for Oxfam by Anne Batt, raise much needed funds for the East Africa Appeal. We have ABC gardening expert, Sabrina Hahn, as the guest speaker and we hope to raise $3000 for Oxfam Australia at this event. For those who cannot attend, but would like to contribute, see the post about Anne's Oxfam Unwrapped wish list. 

Donation - Urgent East Africa Appeal

 We have received an email from Oxfam Australia appealing for donations to the East Africa Appeal and have donated $1000, with more to follow soon.
